Battery Replacement

!WARNING
1,2,3...
The backup battery may explode, catch fire, or leak if dropped, broken apart,
crushed, short-circuited, recharged, heated to 100 ° C or higher, or burned.
If power has not been supplied to the PC for some time, turn ON the power
supply for at least 5 minutes to charge the backup capacitor before replacing
the battery.
Turn OFF the power supply to the PC before replacing the battery. To prevent
memory loss when replacing the Battery for a CPU Unit with a clock, complete
Battery replacement within 5 minutes. (CPU Units without a clock will hold
memory for 10 days (at 25 ° C) using a super capacitor.)
A label has been included to remind the user when the battery needs to be
replaced. After replacing the battery, write the next date that the battery
should be replaced on the label and affix the label in a visible place such as
the inside of the communications port cover.
Be sure to dispose of the old battery in accordance with local laws and regula-
tions.
A CPM2C-BAT01 Backup Battery is built into CPU Units that are equipped
with an internal clock. Replace the battery within two years when used under
25 ° C. When the battery voltage drops, the ERR/ALM indicator will flash and
SR 25308 will be turned ON. (Refer to page 197.) In this case, replace the
battery within seven days. Use the procedure below when replacing the bat-
tery.
1. Stop CPM2C operation and turn OFF the power supply.
2. Remove the battery cover with a flat-blade screwdriver.
3. Remove the battery and disconnect the battery connector.
