Installing Windows NT 4.0

This section describes how to set up the operating system and drivers including:
Disabling the infrared port.
Installing Windows NT 4.0.
Installing video support.
Installing sound support.
Installing mobile enhancements.
Installing CardWizard and PowerProfiler.

To disable infrared

Windows NT 3.51 does not support infrared communications. Disable the infrared
port on the OmniBook to free COM2 for your modem.
1. Restart the OmniBook.
2. Press F2 when prompted to enter the System Configuration Utility (SCU).
3. Choose COM Ports from the Input/Output menu.
4. Change the IR port to None.
5. Save and Exit the SCU.

To install Windows NT 4.0

This installation assumes an internal CD-ROM and a previously completed standard
HP Windows 95 or Windows for Workgroups installation.
1. Press the Off button on the left side of the OmniBook.
2. Insert the CD-ROM drive.
3. Connect the OmniBook floppy disk drive to the parallel port.
4. Insert the Windows NT 4.0 Setup Boot Disk into the floppy disk drive.
