Working with Windows NT 4.0
To adjust the PC speaker
The Windows NT 4.0 audio driver mutes the PC speaker by default. This means that
system sounds are not audible. The PC speaker can be enabled with the following
procedure:
1. Double-click the Volume icon on the Windows Taskbar.
2. Click Options, then click Properties.
3. Under Show The Following Volume Controls, check PC Speaker.
4. Click OK.
PC Speaker now appears as an option in the Master Out box.
5. Uncheck the Mute box under PC Speaker Volume.
6. Close the Master Out box.
The Modem and other PC speaker sounds are now enabled.
