Using Windows 95
Windows 95B OEM Service Release 2, comes factory installed on the OmniBook
2000/5700. The following procedure installs a retail version of Windows 95A, or
reinstalls Windows 95B, and configures appropriate device drivers.
Requirements
OmniBook 2000/5700.
Windows 95 Installation CD.
The OmniBook 2000/5700 Support Utility Disk.
OmniBook 2000/5700 Internal CD-ROM, an attached SCSI CD-ROM drive, or
access to a networked CD-ROM drive.
Blank floppy disk (Windows 95 creates a Setup Boot Disk during install).
HP OmniBook 2000/5700 Windows 95 drivers.
Location: OmniBook hard drive or Recovery CD in
\OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\WIN95.
HP OmniBook Power Management Support Driver. Driver name: PMEXT.SYS
Location: OmniBook hard drive or Recovery CD in
\OMNIBOOK\DRIVERS\HPUTILS.
Before You Start
The Windows 95 installation requires a newly formatted hard drive. Follow
these steps to format the hard drive and install Windows 95 from a CD-ROM
drive. If you are using the OmniBook's internal CD-ROM, insert it into the
expansion bay and connect the floppy to the parallel port.
