CRANKCASE/CRANKSHAFTITRANSMISSION/BALANCER
BALANCER GEAR/BALANCER SHAFT
REMOVAL
This serVIce can be
performed whh rile
engi(}fl installed in
the frame.
Remove the following:
- Right crankcase cover (page 11-7)
- left crankcase cover (page 12-5)
- Clutch (page 11·10)
Temporarily install the clutch ouler guide, needle
bearing and clutch outer to the mainshaft.
Insert the gear holder between the primary drive and
driven gears.
TOOL:
Gear holder, M2.S

Remove the primary drive gear bolt and washer, then

remove the gear holder.
Remove the clutch Quter, needle bearing. outer guide
and primary drive gear.
Check the primary drive gear for wear or damage.
Replace the primary drive gear if necessary.
Insert the gear holder between the balancer drive and
driven gears.

Gear holde r, M1 .5 07724-0010200 or
07724'()01A200

Remove the balancer shaft lock nut and washer.
Remove the gear holder.
Remove the balancer driven and drive gears.
Check the balancer drive and driven gears for wear or
damage.
Replace them if necessary.
After '10:
Remove the seal ring form the balancer driven gear.
