SWITCH CIRCUIT INSPECTION
Disconnect the following connectors:
- ECM 33P (Btack) (page 6-73)
- Engine mode select switch/indicator 4P (Black)
(page 6-76)
Check for continuity between the wire harness side
ECM 33P (Black) and engine mode select switch!
indicator 4P (Black) connector terminals.
Connection : light green - Ught gree n
Red/yellow - Red/yel low
There should be continuity.
If there is no continuity. check for open Circuit in the
Light green andl or Red/yellow wire.
If there is continuity, replace the engine mode select
switch/indicator with a known good one (page 6-76).
- If the mode does nol change when replaced with a
known good engine mode select switch/indicator,
replace the ECM with a known good one (page 6-
74 ).
INDICATOR CIRCUIT INSPECTION

Connect a 12 V battery to the fuel pump sub harness ~-­
(page 6-19).
Turn the "ECM~ selector switch OFF.
Disconnect the engine mode select SWItch/indicator 4P
(Black) connector (page 6-76).
Turn the "ECM" selector switch ON .
Measure the voltage between the engine mode select
switch/indlcator 4P (Black) connector terminal at the
wire side and ground.
Connection: B lack
(+) -
Grou nd (-)
There should be battery voltage. ENGINE MODE SELECT
SWITCH/INDICATOR
If there is battery voltage. check for indicator ground L _ _ _ _ _ _ __ __ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ .J
line (page 6-78).
If there is no battery voltage, check for open or short
circuit in Black wire between the engine mode select
switch/indicator 4P (Black) connector and regulator/
rectifier 6P connector.
