ENGINE MODE SELECT SWITCHI
INDICATOR (After ' 14)
When starting the engine, the engine mode select
switch/indicator will stay on for 2 seconds, then go
off.
If the engine mode select switch/indicator does not
come on or go off, mode selection will not change.
Inspect the following:
- Switch Inspection (page 6-76)
- Switch circuit inspection (page 6-77)
- Indicator circuit inspection (page 6-77)
FUEL SYSTEM (PGM.FI)
You can change engine output characteristic depending

on track conditions by using the engine mode select
switch.
, Mode 1 Standard setting
Smooth selting
Mode 2 (Reduce throttle response from the standard
selting)
Aggressive setting
Mode 3 (Increase throttle response from the
standard setting)
An optional PGM-Fl setting tool can change the ignition
timing and amount of the fuel injection and save the
selling data on the mode 2 or 3.
CURRENT MODE
Start the engine and push the engine mode select
switch with your CRF stopped.
The engine mode select switch/indicator indicate a
selected mode by the number of times the indicator
blinks.
- Mode 1: 1 blink
- Mode 2: 2 blinks
- Mode 3: 3 blinks
If the indicator does not blink with the engine mode
select switch pushed, inspect the following:
- Engine idle speed (page 4-19)
- Switch inspection (page 6-76)
- Switch circuit inspection (page 6-77)
MODE SELECTION
Start the engine and let it idle.
Select the mode using the following procedure when
the motorcycle stopped and the throttle fully closed:
1. Push and hold the engine mode select switch for 1
or more seconds.
2. Release the engine mode select switch.
NOTE :
• The indicator will indicate a selected mode by the
number of times the indicator blinks (page 6-75).
Repeat steps 1. and 2. until the desired mode is
indicated .
If mode does not change . inspect the following:
- Engine idle speed (page 4-19)
- Switch inspection (page 6-76)
- Switch circuit inspection (page 6-77)
