Avoid touching the
spark
plug
or
tester
probes
to prevent
electric
shock.
Sea/the
ECM
connector
with
tape
to
prevent din and
oil
from
entering the
connector
after
disconnecting it
If the
initial
voltage cannot be measured
,
follow the
checks in the troubleshooting table
(page
17-6).
Remove the 12 V battery
(page
6-19),
Shift the transmission into neutral.
Crank the engine with the kicks tarter and read the
ig
nition
coil
primary peak
voltage.
STANDARD
:
100 V minimum
If the peak voltage
is
lower than the standard value,
follow the checks described in
the
troubleshooting
chart
(page
17-6).
