During the calibration of an MAS-A100, other MAS-A100 units for speech
reinforcement in the same audio system should be muted. MASM-1 automatically
switches calibration and muting of MAS-A100 units one at a time when calibrating a
selection of multiple MAS-A100 units. All microphones other than the MAS-A100 units
should be muted (low volume or switched off) during calibration.
Recalibration is required in the following circumstances.
Change in speech reinforcement loudspeakers
Change in position or direction of speech reinforcement loudspeakers
Significant changes in room acoustic characteristics due to size, shape, or interior
materials of the room
Changes in volume and audio quality settings (master volume, microphone input
gain, equalizer settings) of the audio system in which the MAS-A100 units are
connected
Re-calibration is not required in the following circumstances.
Movement of the audience in and out
Changes to furniture (desks, chairs)
Other changes that do not significantly affect the acoustic characteristics of a
room
Changes to audio settings of the MAS-A100 (see "5.7 Audio settings").

Calibration preparation

Set the master volume of the audio system for speech reinforcement, to which the
Main output of the MAS-A100 is connected, to the default position. The default
position is the level used for normal operation with other audio input devices, such as
lavalier microphones, hand microphones, video conference systems, DVD players,
and PCs.
Set the audio system for speech reinforcement not to use any non-linear signal
processing, such as noise reduction or automatic gain control, for the input from the
MAS-A100.
1.
Open the [Calibrate] tab of MASM-1, and select any group in the left pane.
2.
Check the MAS-A100 status using the status lamp.
MAS-A100 units that display a gray lamp are offline and cannot be calibrated.
MAS-A100 units that display a green lamp (Active), amber lamp (Mute), or red
lamp (Standby) can be calibrated. After calibration is completed successfully, the
MAS-A100 switches to Active state.
