Treadmill Grounding
The treadmill must be grounded. If the equipment malfunctions or breaks down, grounding
draws off electric current and reduces the risk of electric shock. The power cord on the tread-
mill is equipped with a grounding conductor and a three-pin grounding plug. This plug must
be inserted into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local
codes and ordinances. Failure to ground the treadmill properly may void the Precor Limited
Warranty.
CAUTION: Improper connection of the grounding conductor can result in a risk of
electric shock. Check with a qualified electrician or service person if you are not
sure whether the equipment is properly grounded. DO NOT modify the plug
provided with the treadmill. If the plug does not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet
installed by a qualified electrician.
Frame Grounding Requirement
For operator safety and to minimize electrostatic discharge conditions have a certified elec-
trician verify that the AC frame ground continuity to be a low resistance connection to the AC
distribution ground bar
CAUTION: To avoid electrostatic discharge shock, make sure that there is AC
frame ground continuity.
Individual branch circuit requirement
(US and Canada installations)
Each Precor treadmill must be connected to a separate 20 amp individual branch circuit out-
let. No other devices can be connected to the same circuit outlet except for one optional
PVS (Personal Viewing System) display if installed.
Individual branch circuit: An individual branch circuit provides a hot conductor and
l
neutral conductor to a receptacle. The conductors must not be looped, "daisy-
chained", or connected to any other conductors or receptacles. The circuit must be
grounded according to NEC guidelines or local region electric codes.
CAUTION: All NEC (National Electric Code) guidelines or local region electric
codes must be complied with.
