5) Remove shift cable from the actuator
cam and turn main switch to ON.
NOTE:
The actuator should move the shift cam to neu-
tral position automatically.
6) Confirm that the shift position at engine
side is in neutral and then install the
shift cable on the shift cam at actuator
side.
7) Move the remote control lever from
neutral to estimated forward and
reverse positions to check that the out-
board shifts securely.
8) In case the outboard will not shift with
the adjusting pin and hole (L), the cable
may be defective or the cable end play
is excessive. Replace the cable if it is
defective.
9) After confirming that the outboard
shifts, turn the main switch to OFF.
Install water prevention cap and then
actuator cover.
Screw:
1.5 Nm (0.15 m•kg, 1.1 ft•lb)
