3. Install the fitting plate 1 and bolt 2.
T orque: B olt - 8N m ( 0.8m-kg, 5.8 ft-lb.)
N O T E : After installing the fitting plate, lift the
tiller handle straight up.
4. Adjust the shift cable joint position.
a. Turn the shift handle 1 in neutral posi-
tion.
b. Align the center of the set pin 2 with the
mark a on the bracket.
c. Adjust the position of the cable joint until
its hole aligns with the set pin.
d. Install the clip 3 and tighten the lock nut

WARNING
T he cable joint should be screwed in more than
8mm ( 0.31 in) .
N O T E : Put the "UP" mark upward. (Manual
starter model only).

5. Check the shift operation for unsmooth oper-
ation. Diagnose and repair the problem if the
operation is not smooth.
6. Adjust the throttle cable joint position.
a. Turn the throttle grip fully closed.
b. Turn the magneto control lever 1 so
its adjusting screw contacts the fully
retarding stopper a.
c. Adjust the position of the cable joint until
its hole aligns with the set pin.
d. Install the clip 2 and tighten the lock nut
