Outboard Rigging Guide - 2001
WATER PRESSURE GAUGE
The water pressure gauge provides a warning for
the boat operator when there is a problem with the
cooling system. Problems can be discovered
before extensive engine damage occurs.
On high performance applications where the
engine is mounted in an elevated position, it is
highly recommended that the water pressure
gauge be used. While operating, the water pres-
sure must not drop below 11 psi during full throt-
tle operation.
The Yamaha Water Pressure Gauge uses a sensor
installed on the motor, which is connected to the
gauge by a hose.
NOTE: For all 30hp~90hp applications, the same
sender mounting hole is used for either the water
temperature gauge or the water pressure gauge.
Both gauges cannot be used together on one
engine. However, on V4~V6 units, it is possible
to use both gauges with one engine.
