7. Check the throttle for its fully open position.
a. Turn the shift handle to the in-gear posi-
tion.
b. Turn the throttle grip fully open.
c. Check the throttle valve lever so it
contacts the fully opening stopper.
8. On manual start models (See Illust. A) con-
nect the clamp 1, engine stop switch lead
(black) 2, and the engine stop switch lead
(white) 3.
9. On electric start models without instruments
(See Illust. B), connect the main switch cou-
pler 1 and zip tie 2.
N O T E : Fit the main switch lead in the clamp and
clamp the wire leads as shown.

10. For electric start models with instruments
(Illust. C), connect the extension wire harness
coupler 1, main switch wire lead coupler 2,
trim sender lead coupler 3, oil level gauge
coupler 4, power trim/tilt switch lead cou-
pler 5, clamp 6, and zip tie 7.
N O T E : Fit the extension wire lead in the clamp.
Clamp the wire leads as shown.
Throttle Friction
1. Adjust the friction control nut 1 according to
the following chart.
