3. To install the USB card, complete the following steps:
a) Ensure that the USB card handle (A) is open as shown in the following figure.
b) Hold on to the USB card handle and by using your hand to support the bottom of the USB card,
push the USB card into its slot as shown in the following figure.
c) Rotate the handle to the right in the direction shown in the following figure to lock the USB card into
the system.

Preparing the 9080-M9S system for operation after installing the USB card
To prepare the system for operation after installing the USB card, complete the steps in this procedure.
Procedure
1. Ensure that you have the electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist strap on and that the ESD clip is plugged
into a ground jack or connected to an unpainted metal surface. If not, do so now.
2. To complete the procedure with the power on, access the ASMI and run the Cable Plugging Validation
utility to validate only the UPIC cables.
a) If you are already connected to the ASMI, go to the next step. Otherwise, click All Systems then
select system being serviced. Then, click Actions > View All Actions > Launch Advanced
Systems Management (ASM).
