Locking and unlocking the door

Push in the depression on the front
edge of the driver's door handle.

Insert the mechanical key while
pulling on the driver's door handle.

Turn the key in order to perform the
following operations.
Locks both side doors

Closes the windows (turn and

hold)
Unlocks the door

Some models: Turning the key rearward
unlocks the driver's door. Turning the key
once again within 5 seconds unlocks the
other door.
Opens the windows (turn and

hold)

: These settings must be customized at
your Lexus dealer.
7-2. Steps to take in an emergency
Opening the trunk

Unlock the doors, and press the trunk
opener switch.
WARNING
When using the mechanical key and
■
operating the power windows
Operate the power window after check-
ing to make sure that there is no possibil-
ity of any passenger having any of their
body parts caught in the window.
Also, do not allow children to operate the
mechanical key. It is possible for children
and other passengers to get caught in
the power window.
Starting the engine <hybrid sys-
tem>

Depress the brake pedal.
2 Touch the Lexus emblem side of the
electronic key to the engine switch
<power switch>.
When the electronic key is detected, a
buzzer sounds and the engine switch
<power switch> will turn to IGNITION ON
mode <ON mode>.
When the smart entry & start system is
deactivated in customization setting, the
engine switch <power switch> will turn to
