KVM Switch AC Power

Connect the AC power cord to a suitable power source. Avaya recommends the use of an
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for the AC feed.

Connecting to Reference Clocks

The CMS-1000 Media Server and the CMS-6000 Media Server can optionally connect to
Building Integrated Timing Source (BITS) clocks. Reference clocks allow you to use
independent timing references, so that the media server can stay synchronized with other
network devices receiving input from the same clocks. There are two ports, which allow
redundant connections to time clocks.
External reference clocks must be Stratum 3 quality or better.External timing sources, when
connected, automatically override the media server's internal clock. If the external clock fails,
the media server generates an alarm and automatically reverts to its internal clock and
continues to operate normally.
If supported, external clocks connect through the two clock reference ports on the back of the
media server. These ports are labeled "Ref A" and "Ref B." The BITS ports accept a T1, E1, or
Composite Clock connection (64 kHz with input impedance of 100 ohm).
If you use the BITS ports, you must fabricate the cables and the connectors to match the
connection on the media server.
