External Alarm Cabling Specifications

The external alarm relay contacts on the media server have the following characteristics:
Normally open contacts for critical, major, and minor alarms
Contact current is 2 A maximum•Contact resistance is protected by 0.165 mF/477 W
The external relay contacts have the following dielectric strengths:
1500 VAC (50/60 Hz for 1-min) between the coil and the contacts
1000 VAC (50/60 Hz for 1-min) between the contacts of the same pole•1000 VAC (50/60
Hz for 1-min) between the contacts of different poles
The external relay contacts can withstand the following surges:
2500 V, 2x10 msec between the coil and the contacts, in compliance with Bellcore
standards
1500 V, 10x160 msec between the contacts of the same pole, in compliance with FCC Part
68
