ADJ 9.3 TONER DISPENSE
SOLENOID
PURPOSE
The purpose
is to
adjust the Toner Dispense
Solenoid so that toner
is
dispensed t o the
developer module at the correct rate and
to
compensate for wear a t each developer
change.
CHECK
2.
ENTER DIAGNOSTICS AND ENTER THE
CODE

1. REMOVE THE UPPER REAR COVER AND
PLACE
A
MAGNET ON THE INTERLOCK
SWITCH.
3. PRESS Start.
WARNING
There will be a time delay between the time
the code [I01 is entered and the time the
motor starts
to
turn. The motor
will
not start
until the fuser
is
a t
the
correct temperature.

4. CHECK THE TlME REQUIRED FOR THE
TONER CARTRIDGE TO ROTATE 114
REVOLUTION.
5. PRESS Stop.
6. IF THE ELAPSED TIME IN STEP 4 IS BETWEEN
30
AND 60 SECONDS,
THERE IS
NO NEED
FOR AN ADJUSTMENT.
ADJUST
7.
REMOVE THE TONER CARTRIDGE.
Q Loosen the screws enough that the
solenoid will move freely.
8. (FIGURE 1): ADJUST THE TONER DISPENSE
SOLENOID.
9. REINSTALL THE TONER CARTRIDGE.
Ensure the ground clip is making good
contact with metal rjng on the end o f
the toner cartridge.
10. REEAT STEP 3 THROUGH STEP 9 UNTIL THE
'i ONER CARTRIDGE ROTATES 114 TURN
WITHIN 30 AND 60 SECONDS.
. I F THE ELAPSED TlME IS LESS THAN 30 SECONDS, ROTATE THE
SOLENOID COUNTERCLOCKWISE
*IF THE ELAPSED TlME IS MORE THAN 60 SECONDS, ROTATE THE
1 1 . EXIT DIAGNOSTICS, REMOVE THE MAGNET,
AND REINSTALLTHE UPPER REAR COVER.
