Installation of an option card

Overview
This section provides a procedure for upgrading the 1643 AM with one of the option
cards. An overview about all available option cards is given in chapter 2, section
"Upgrade with option cards" (p.
Before you begin
Please read section

Procedure
Proceed as follows to mount an option card:

Remove the top cover.

Remove the dummy panel fixed on the rear.

Insert the option card into P1 and/or P2 connectors. Make sure the connectors are

properly engaged and seated.
Important! Fit the X5IP option card by inserting at an angle the faceplate of the
card to the back of the AMS faceplate. Gently push the card towards the AMS
faceplate to slowly move the connectors into position.

Secure the option card with six M3x6 screws (positions 1 to 6, see

Align and stick the function label delivered with the option card on the rear plate.
