Stand-alone test procedures
Test equipment and accessories

To be able to perform the tests described in this chapter, the following test equipment
and accessories are required:
ITM-CIT cable
PDH analyzer
Measuring cables (E1 120 Ω UTP or 75 Ω coax depending on
the configuration)
Two single mode fibers with applicable connectors
Optical attenuator, single mode, 1310/1550 nm
Cleaning set for optical fibers
If the 1643 AM/AMS has an option card installed, then the following test equipment
and accessories are required per option card:

1x single mode fiber, 1x
10 dB attenuator for long
haul laser (L11, L12, L41,
or L42)
2x single mode fibers, 2x
10 dB attenuator for long
haul laser (L11, L12, L41,
or L42)
PDH BER test set with E1
option
2x E1 cables
PDH BER test set with E3
option
2x E3 cables
PDH BER test set with
DS1 option
2x DS1 cables,
refer to note 1
