Insertion of EndoTherapy accessories into the endoscope
1.
Select the EndoTherapy accessories compatible with the instrument from
the "System chart" in the Appendix. Also refer to the instruction manuals of
the EndoTherapy accessories.
2.
Turn the UP/DOWN angulation control lever to the neutral position to
straighten the endoscope.
3.
Confirm that the tip of the EndoTherapy accessory is closed or retracted into
its sheath and insert the EndoTherapy accessory slowly and straight into the
slit of the biopsy valve.
ULTRASONIC BRONCHOFIBERVIDEOSCOPE BF-UC180F
Do not insert or withdraw EndoTherapy accessories while the
endoscope is angulated.
Inserting or withdrawing an EndoTherapy accessory with
force may damage the EndoTherapy accessory or
endoscope and/or cause patient injury.
If the distal end of an EndoTherapy accessory is not visible
within the endoscopic image, do not open the distal end or
extend the needle of the instrument. This could cause patient
injury, bleeding, perforation, and/or equipment damage.
If an EndoTherapy accessory cannot be withdrawn from the
endoscope, close the tip of the EndoTherapy accessory or
retract the tip of the EndoTherapy accessory into its sheath
and slowly withdraw the endoscope while observing the
endoscopic image. Inserting or withdrawing EndoTherapy
accessories with excessive force may damage the
instrument channel or EndoTherapy accessories and/or
cause patient injury.
Do not insert EndoTherapy accessories forcibly or abruptly.
Otherwise, the EndoTherapy accessory may extend from the
distal end of the endoscope abruptly, which could cause
patient injury, bleeding, and/or perforation.
The force required to insert an EndoTherapy accessory is
reduced if the cap of the biopsy valve (MD-495) is detached
from the main body. However, a detached cap can reduce the
efficacy of the endoscope's suction system and may cause
patient debris to leak or spray from the endoscope, posing an
infection-control risk. Whenever EndoTherapy accessories
are not being used, attach the biopsy valve's cap to the main
body.
