After performing the steps above, the balloon should be attached to the
scope (see Figure 3.33).

Fill the syringe with sterile deaerated water or saline.

Connect the syringe to the 3-way stopcock and depress the plunger to
inflate the balloon. While inflating the balloon, point the distal end of the
endoscope upward (see Figure 3.34).

Syringe
In Step 10., the balloon's front band is not attached to the
endoscope's balloon attachment groove. Therefore, water
will be emitted from the front end of the balloon. Place the
distal end of the endoscope in a beaker or any other
container to prevent the floor from getting wet.
