 Cleaning the balloon channel in the insertion section
(location E)
1.
Grip the channel cleaning brush (BW-7B) or the single use single-ended
cleaning brush (BW-400B) at a point 1.5 cm from the distal end.
2.
Insert the channel cleaning brush or the single use single-ended cleaning
brush into the irrigation port as illustrated by E in Figure 7.20. Using short
strokes, feed the brush through the insertion section until it stops.
It can be confirmed whether the brush has reached the distal end by looking
at the tip of brush through the groove of the balloon water feeding and
suction port (Rough standard of brush insertion length: 85 cm from point).
3.
Carefully pull the brush out through the channel.
4.
Clean the bristles with your fingertips in the detergent solution.
5.
Repeat until all debris is removed.
 Brushing the irrigation port (location F)
1.
Insert the channel-opening cleaning brush (MH-507), the single use
channel-opening cleaning brush (MAJ-1339), or the single use combination
cleaning brush (BW-411B) into the irrigation port until it stops as illustrated
by F in Figure 7.20.
2.
Turn the inserted brush once.
3.
Pull the brush out and clean the bristles in the detergent solution.
4.
Repeat until all debris is removed.
 Brushing the balloon grooves (location G)
1.
Brush the balloon grooves with the channel-opening cleaning brush
(MH-507), the single use channel-opening cleaning brush (MAJ-1339), or
the single use combination cleaning brush (BW-411B) until all debris is
removed.
2.
Soak all cleaning brushes in detergent solution, then reprocess them as
described in Section 7.9, "Cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization
procedures for reusable parts and cleaning equipment".
