Chapter 3 Preparation and Inspection
Attaching the single use adapter biopsy valve (MAJ-1414)
Attaching the single-use biopsy valve (MAJ-210)
36
If the single use adapter biopsy valve (MAJ-1414) is not
properly connected to the instrument channel port, it can
reduce the efficacy of the endoscope's suction system and
may cause patient debris to leak or spray from the
endoscope, posing an infection-control risk.
Attach the single use adapter biopsy valve (MAJ-1414) to the instrument channel
port of the endoscope (see Figure 3.12). Confirm that the adapter biopsy valve is
firmly attached to the instrument channel port of the endoscope.
At low temperatures, the housing may become stiff and
difficult to attach.
Figure 3.12
If the single-use biopsy valve (MAJ-210) is not properly
connected to the instrument channel port, it can reduce the
efficacy of the endoscope's suction system and may cause
patient debris to leak or spray from the endoscope, posing an
infection-control risk.
Attach the single-use biopsy valve (MAJ-210) to the instrument channel port with
its tab as in the illustrated direction. Push the upper part of the biopsy valve down
slantingly onto the instrument channel port until the valve snaps into place (see
Figure 3.13).
