1. Adjusting The Mounting Position of The Encoder

Purpose :
To ensure that the image is

Remove the rear cover of the machine.
Turn on the power switch and press the "-" Image Shifting key to shifi the
position to the maximum backward position ("-2" position ). After that ,
press "+" Image Shifting key to shift the position to the center (when the
"O"position LED lights).
Make sure that it is possible to insert the image shifting position gauge
[A] to confirm gear alignment and, therefore, the image shifting position.
If necessary, adjust the gear alignment as follows after removing the en-
coder [B]:
Caution:
Adjust the encoder position after removing the connector [F] of

the image shift motor.
Disconnect the connector [C] of the encoder.
Insert the gauge [A] into the hole of the gear [D].
Turn on the LED "-2" of the Image shift indicator on the operation
panel. Then gradually turn the shaft of the encoder [B] in the "O"posi-
tion direction and stop it as soon as the "O"position LED lights.
In the above condition, set the encoder [B] and tighten the allen screw
[E] to mount the shaft of the encoder [B] with the gear [D]. Then
remove the gauge [A] and connect the connector [F] of the image
shift motor.
After adjustment, make prints to confirm the image position.
