9. Adjusting The Feed Length of The Second Feed Roller

Reducing the feed length
Increasing the feed length
Purpose : To ensure paper feed between the drum and the press roller.
Method : 1.

Stack about 100 sheets of 20 lb. paper on the paper table.
Set the paper table in the paper feed position. (Use 1/0 Check mode 0004-
0 as following the step 4 on next page.)
Remove the drum unit and the rear cover from the machine.
Turn on the paper feed solenoid and gradually turn the drum rotation
shaft to feed paper by rotating the drum rotation shaft [A] with
a (1 Omm)
open end wrench.
Measure the paper feed length from the time the second feed roller [B]
starts rotating until it stops rotating. This feed length should be 85 + 5
mm.
If it is not, adjust the feed length by loosening the screw [C] and by shift-
ing the second feed roller cam [D] up or down.
Check adjustment by repeating steps 4 and 5.
Re-install drum and run at least 50 copies to test.
