1.4.20 Travel Check of the Head/Carriage Unit and Operational Check of the Pressure
Roller (Function code 63)
Function
This procedure moves the head/carriage unit to the adjustment position (Function code 63 + *).
It also checks releasing and depressing of the pressure roller provided on disc printing models
(Function code 63 + #).
Operating Procedure
(1) Press the 6 and 3 keys in this order in the initial stage of the maintenance mode.
The "SELECT 63?" appears on the LCD.
(2) Press the Black Start (Mono Start) key.
The "START 63" appears on the LCD.
(3) To move the head/carriage unit to the adjustment position, press the * key.
The machine moves the head/carriage unit to the adjustment position and displays "HEAD
ADJ?" on the LCD.
After completion of head replacement or adjustment, press the Stop/Exit key. The machine
moves the head/carriage unit back to the home position, locks it, and returns to the initial
stage of the maintenance mode.
(4) To make an operational check of the pressure roller, perform steps (1) and (2) again and
then press the # key.
The machine displays the "PF ROLL RELEASE" on the LCD and releases the pressure
roller.
After checking of the pressure roller, press the Stop/Exit key. The machine depresses the
pressure roller, moves the head/carriage unit back to the home position, locks it, and
returns to the initial stage of the maintenance mode.
If the machine fails to release or depress the pressure roller, it returns to the initial stage of
the maintenance mode and displays Error 91 or 92.
