SPARK PLUG
1. Remove:
•
Spark plugs
2. Measure:
•
Spark plug gap
Standard spark plug:
BR9ES (NGK)
Spark plug gap:
SCH8220
SPARK PLUG CAP
1. Remove:
•
Spark plug cap
2. Connect:
•
Pocket tester
(to the spark plug cap)
3. Measure:
•
Spark plug cap resistance
Out of specification → Replace.
Spark plug cap resistance:
SCH8230
IGNITION COIL
1. Disconnect:
•
Ignition coil lead
•
Spark plug lead
2. Connect:
•
Pocket tester
(to the ignition coil and spark plug lead)
3. Measure:
•
Primary coil resistance a
•
Secondary coil resistance b
Out of specification → Replace.
Primary coil resistance a:
Secondary coil resistance b:

5 kΩ at 20°C (68°F)
0.36 ~ 0.48 Ω at 20°C (68°F)
