Template files are ASCII text files consisting of a set of SpeedTouch™ (embedded Easy)
Setup wizard specific commands and CLI commands.
Used by the SpeedTouch™ (embedded Easy) Setup wizard, template files allow users to
complete the configuration of the device in a convenient and comprehensive way,
;without the need of manual configuration via CLI or the web pages.
Three template files are by default delivered within the SpeedTouch™ System software
for use by means of the embedded Easy Setup wizard:

pppoe.tpl
A template for allowing configuration of the SpeedTouch™ for Routed PPPoE
(always-on) and simultaneous multiple PPPoE Relay Internet access. For the local
network, the SpeedTouch™ acts as DHCP server.

pppoa.tpl
A template for allowing configuration of the SpeedTouch™ for Routed PPPoA
Internet access. For the local network, the SpeedTouch™ acts as DHCP server.

br.tpl
A template for allowing configuration of the SpeedTouch™ for Bridged Ethernet
WAN access (i.e. actually serving as an IEEE802.1D Transparent Bridge). Option-
ally the SpeedTouch™ DHCP server can be enabled or disabled by the user.
On the SpeedTouch™ Setup CD-ROM some additional template files are delivered,
initially for use by the SpeedTouch™ Setup wizard MS Windows application available
from the CD-ROM.
These templates allow for more advanced configuration scenarios, e.g. for Routed IPoA
WAN access, backup and redundancy scenarios, etc.
As the three default templates, available for the SpeedTouch™ embedded Easy Setup
wizard are embedded in the system software, no template files are present in the '/dl',
(or '/active') subdirectories by default.
However, via FTP access you are able to upload additional template files from the
SpeedTouch™ Setup CD-ROM, or custom template files to the SpeedTouch™ '/dl'
subdirectory, for use via the SpeedTouch™ embedded Easy Setup wizard, to extend the
diversity of embedded configuration possibilities and to avoid the need of using the
SpeedTouch™ Setup wizard from the CD-ROM (e.g. to allow remote configuration via
the embedded Easy Setup wizard.
In addition for your convenience, each time the SpeedTouch™Setup wizard is used to
configure the device a 'backup' user.tpl file is created/overwritten in the '/dl' subdirec-
tory, for future use by the embedded Easy Setup wizard.
