The SpeedTouch™610 will verify the key and displays the result in the Software
10
Module Status table (in the example below, the software activation key for the SIP
software module was successfully imported and verified):
In case the software activation key is not correct, an error message is displayed. To
retry the importation, repeat the procedure.
Click Restart to allow the SpeedTouch™610 to save the software activation key to

permanent storage and to activate the software module.
For your convenience a copy of the personal software activation key is sent to your mail
address.
For backup reasons you can request the software activation key for a certain software
module an unlimited number of times for the same SpeedTouch™610 device.
Under normal conditions, once a software module has been activated, there is no
reason to disable this software module again.
However, via an FTP session to the SpeedTouch™610 permanent storage you are able
to create a backup of software activation keys (files with an extension .swk, stored on
the SpeedTouch™610 '/dl' subdirectory), delete keys and/or restore them.
Be aware that due to a previous system software update software keys may be residing
in the SpeedTouch™610 '/active' directory. If so, and you want to remove these soft-
ware keys in order to prevent them to re-activate a software module in a future system
software upgrade, follow the instructions below:
Make sure to save your current SpeedTouch™610 configuration via the :saveall
1
CLI command.
Make sure that both the active and passive system software are the same.
2
This can be done via the :software duplicate CLI command.
Switch active and passive system software versions via the :software switch CLI
3
command
After restart, remove the software keys (now residing in the 'dl' directory) via an
4
FTP session.
