7. Grasp the stub shaft and pull the valve assem-
bly from the housing bore . Separate worm and valve
and remove the lower shaft cap "O" ring and dis-
card .

8. If the worm or the lower thrust bearing and
race remained in the gear housing, remove them at
this time .
