10 . Remove pole piece and plate assembly from
housing. Do not remove three securing screws (fig-
ure 62).
NOTE : Pole piece and plate assembly is serviced
as an assembly . It should not be unnecessarily
disassembled as the polarity of the assembly
could be changed and effect proper operation of
the vehicle.
NOTE : Do not wipe lubricant from module or
distributor unless replacing module . Special lu-
bricant is provided with new modules.
13 . Remove capacitor attaching screw and dis-
connect wiring lead . Remove capacitor and bracket
from housing.
14 . Remove wiring harness connector from dis-
tributor .
15 . Remove felt washer and plastic seal .
NOTE : No attempt should be made to secure the
shaft bushings in the housing .
16 . Inspect and replace parts as required .

DISTRIBUTOR ASSEMBLY
1 . Repack lube cavity in housing with Delco Dis-
tributor lubricant or equivalent .
2 . Replace plastic seal and felt washer .
