Installation

Overview

This section explains how to install Hopper Plus units. You will first assemble, configure and test units in a
controlled environment so that any problems can be solved easily, and then install units in the field. By going
through this process, you will ensure a successful installation, save time spent on-site, and reduce travel from
site to site.
The following basic process should be followed.
1. Obtain the network plan, equipment and tools.
2. Assemble units
—Check the contents of each Hopper shipping package to ensure that you have received the required
parts.
—Connect the indoor antenna, connect the power supply unit, and check the power.
3. Pre-configure units—Configure units according to the network plan.
4. Bench test units—Test basic RF and network operation of units in a controlled environment.
5. Install units—Place the tested units in their field locations and connect them to antennas, the wired
network, and DC power.
6. Test Network—Test the operation of the installed network.
