Removing an Expansion Card from Your System

1. Remove the right side door.
2. Remove the front panel.
3. Remove the screw holding the expansion card bracket to the back of the cassis.
4. If it is a long expansion card, unlock the retention tab securing the other end of
the card to the inside of the chassis. Press on the point of the arrow drawn on
the retention bracket end to unlock the card.
5. If applicable, remove all the cables connected to the card.
6. Do not touch any components on the card - handle it only by its edges, to avoid
risk of damage from electrostatic discharge. Without flexing the motherboard,
carefully unplug the card from its connector on the motherboard, and remove it
from the expansion slot on the chassis' rear panel.
7. Store the expansion card in an anti-static bag (available from electronic supply
stores) or a cardboard box.
8. Place an expansion slot cover in the space left by the expansion card you
removed, and secure it with the screw you removed in step 3.
