ATTENTION! For maintenance of engine external equipment (transmission, etc.) always refer to the
manufacturer's manuals and instructions.
Check the engine oil level (page 51)
Check the engine coolant level. (page 53)
Check and clean the sea water inlets and sea water filters. (page 54)
Check for leaks in the fuel line.
Check the stern drive - gearbox oil level, steering oil level & trim oil level.
(page. 55)
Check for any leaks.
The engines are delivered by the manufacturer filled with the correct amount of oil, therefore it is
not necessary to refill the engine with oil. Some engine installations could affect the oil level
reading in the sump, only in certain extreme circumstances it is necessary to fill.
ATTENTION!
-Avoid mixing different types of oil, because in these conditions, the maintenance intervals will not be
truthful.
-In case you are not able to find the FNM oil , make sure you use oil with the same characteristics and
specifications (ACEA E3/API CF4/MIL L 2I04E/F), SAE 5W40 totally synthetic.
-When checking the oil level in the boat pay attention to the distribution of weight on board. The
arrangement of weights and the resulting inclination of the boat can affect the data reading.
To check the engine oil level:
1. Make sure that the engine is stopped from at least 5 minutes to support the complete draining of
oil in the sump.
2. Extract the oil dipstick from the oil dipstick tube and clean it with blotting paper or similar.
