1. To fit the optional back-up battery, place the battery
in the compartment provided and connect the battery
leads red to red (+) and black to black (-).
2. In the event of mains failure the green power indicator
will now flash, showing that the Control Unit is
powered by battery only.
3. Close the Control Unit cover and hold it firmly closed
whilst securing the two retaining screws.
SETTING YOUR ACCESS
CODE
The Control Unit is supplied with a preset Access
Code of

However, for security reasons, it is essential that you
immediately change the Access Code to another four-
digit number which only you and other occupants of
the premises know (usually a number with a personal
significance is easier to remember).
IMPORTANT NOTE
If the Control Unit is powered down, (eg no
mains or battery) the Access Code will return to

and you will have to re-programme
it again to your own Access Code. If you should forget
your Access Code, you will need to completely power
down the control unit and then re-apply power to the
Control Unit. However, you may change the Access
Code at any time using the following procedure (except
when in Test mode).
To change your Access Code, open the hinged
keypad cover.

6. The Control Unit Siren will emit two rapid 'bleeps'
to indicate acknowledgment of new Access Code.
7. From now on, only the new Access Code will
operate the system.

Note: Do not pause more than 5 seconds between
pressing keys, otherwise the code change will not be
accepted and you will need to start the programming
sequence again from the beginning.
SETTING THE CONTROL
UNIT TO TEST MODE
Before installing the Passive Infra Red or Magnetic
Contact Detectors you should set the Control Unit to
Test mode. This will help to ensure that the correct
House Code is used and to establish the radio range.

2. The system is now in Test mode.
3. The yellow indicator light will be illuminated.
4. When a Detector is operated, the Control Unit will
sound for 3 seconds and the red Alarm Activated
light will illuminate and indicate the zone of operation.
The Control Unit should be left in Test mode whilst the
detectors and other accessories are set up and
installed. However, if you wish to exit the Test mode,

SETTING THE EXIT, ENTRY
AND AUTO STOP TIMERS
EXIT TIME
When you arm the system, by entering your Access
Code at the Control Unit keypad, the system will
ignore Detectors for a preset delay time to allow you
to leave the premises. During the delay period (Full
Arm or Part Arm), the Control Unit sounder will emit
either two short bleeps at the beginning and two short
bleeps at the end of the delay period (Semi-Silent
Mode) or a continuous tone throughout the delay
period, depending on the setting of miniature switch 9
in the Control Unit as previously described.
