MTP/HDMI U R Description
The Extron MTP/HDMI Universal Receiver is used for long-distance distribution of digital and
analog RGB, component (bi-/tri- level), S-video, or composite video signals over twisted pair
cables. The receivers auto detect video formats and RS-232/audio signals, enabling the signal
to be output on the appropriate rear panel connector.
The MTP/HDMI U R is part of the Extron line of twisted pair transmitters, receivers, and
associated video accessories.
The MTP/HDMI U R receives digital or analog signals on RJ-45 connectors over
Extron A/V UTP cable, Category (CAT) 5/5e/6 or Extron DTP26 shielded twisted pair (STP),
unshielded twisted pair (UTP), or foil shielded twisted pair (FTP) cable.
They are compatible with these Extron devices:

The receiver outputs the RGBHV and RGBS video on the 15-pin HD connector, Y, R-Y, and
B-Y signals. Composite video is output on BNC connectors. S-video is output on the 4-pin
mini DIN connector. Digital output is made on the HDMI connector.
NOTE:
RS-232 (serial) communications are passed on 3-pole captive screw connectors, and audio
signals on a 5-pole captive screw connector.
The receiver is able to receive RS-232 commands from the transmitter and pass RS-232
responses back to the transmitter. RS-232 via the digital output is always bidirectional, and
the analog RS-232 can be set to either bidirectional or unidirectional, depending on the
internal jumper settings.
NOTE:
"Transmitter" refers primarily to an MTP transmitter, but could also include an
HDMI 201 Tx transmitter.
"Receiver" refers to the MTP/HDMI U R receiver.
All MTP transmitters, DAs, and switchers
DVI 201 and HDMI 201 transmitters
The analog video auto detection feature is sensitive to video signals with high
levels and/or over-peaked signals, which may result in video detection issues.
Hardware flow control is not supported.
