Configuring a Windows NT 4.0
server to support the DocuColor 4
LP/CP
To configure a Windows NT 4.0 server to communicate with the DocuColor
4 LP/CP, follow these general steps. More detail is provided in subsequent
sections.
• Load the Microsoft TCP/IP Printing service (see the next section).
• Enter the host name of the DocuColor 4 LP/CP in the host database used
by your system (see page 91).
• On the DocuColor 4 LP/CP, perform Server Setup, Network Setup, Printer
Setup, PS Setup, and PCL Setup.
• On the Windows NT 4.0 server, create a printer for each DocuColor 4 LP/
CP queue, install the appropriate printer drivers (if necessary) and (op-
tionally) share the printer on the network (see page 92).
• Enter the host name and internal name of the DocuColor 4 LP/CP in the
printer connection.
To add TCP/IP network services:
Log in to the Windows NT 4.0 server as Administrator.
In the Control Panel, double-click the Network icon.
The Network Settings dialog box appears.
Click the Services tab and click Add.
In the Select Network dialog box, select Microsoft TCP/IP printing and
click OK.
In the Windows NT Setup dialog box, specify the location of your
Windows NT 4.0 software files and click Continue.
Insert your windows NT 4.0 System software CD and specify the CD-
ROM drive's volume; or, if the files reside of your hard drive or on the
network, specify the appropriate path.
Click the Protocols tab and configure the windows NT 4.0 server with
its own IP address, subnet mask and default gateway.
