Troubleshooting the LAN Interface

4.7.1.
Checking Network Configuration
Print the current DX-2000 Internet
Parameters List (F-6-4)
Ask the customer for the Pre-Installation
Information form filled out by the Network
Administrator. (User's Guide, page 15)
Verify this information with the Internet
Parameters List that you just printed.
Are the Internet Parameters entered
correctly into the DX-2000?
Locate a PC connected to the same Subnet
Mask as the DX-2000
From the DOS Prompt, enter the following
command-line utility:
Windows 95
Windows NT/98 : ipconfig /all
Does the displayed Network configuration,
match the following settings of the DX-2000
Internet Parameters ?
Default Router IP Address:
DNS Server IP Address:
Subnet Mask:
From the DOS Prompt, enter the following
command-line utility: "route print"
Does the current routing table for the
Gateway match ?
Does the Default Gateway respond to the
"ping IP" command ?
Does the DNS Server respond to the
"ping IP" command ?
Does the DX-2000 respond to the
"ping host name" command ?
Does the DX-2000 respond to the
"telnet" command ?
Ask the Network Administrator to verify the
POP/SMTP account and system status.
