10. Dismantling

ATTENTION
The instructions in this chapter are to be considered indicative. Please refer to the laws in the country where the unit
is used.
10.1 Disposing of the batteries
At the end of their life, the batteries must be disposed of in a place set aside for the collection of such waste. Since
batteries are toxic waste it is not allowed to dispose of them like traditional waste.
For the correct procedure please contact the relevant Authorities in your area.
10.2 Dismantling the UPS
Once the batteries have been removed all the parts of the UPS Archimod® must be removed.
To remove and dismantle the unit wear the Individual Protective Gear described in chapter 3 and refer to the instructions
and charts that you will find in this manual.
Once the various parts have been removed, divide the components into groups, separating metal from plastic, from
copper, etc., according to the selected disposal scheme used in the country where the unit is being dismantled.
If the parts have to be stored while waiting to go to the dump, keep them in a safe place, protected from atmospheric
agents to prevent any chance of contamination of the ground and under water tables (especially with lead and the
electrolyte of the batteries).
10.3 Disposing of the electronic components
To dispose of these components, like, for example, the unit's control panel, refer to the laws relevant to this sector.
