(5) Development
The electrostatic latent image on the surface of the OPC drum is changed to a visible toner image
by applying a toner to it. Development is performed in the contact part between the OPC drum
and developing roller.
1 The sponge roller negatively charges a toner and applies it to the developing roller.
2 The toner applied to the developing roller is thin-coated by the developing blade.
3 A toner adheres to the exposure part of the OPC drum in the contact part between the OPC
drum and developing roller. This causes the electrostatic latent image to be changed to a
visible image.
