Commissioning Step 6: Sensor Selection

In the Ship Setup Options box, click the General tab to select the appropriate
Heading Type, Positioning Sensor, Motion Sensor and any magnetic offset if
using HDG.
Return to the user interface (main display) and select the contour view. If the NMEA
settings are correct a small boat icon in the centre of the contour view screen will
display with a WHITE heading line. This line should be stable if not ensure TMG is
not selected as Heading Type as this is not appropriate for mapping.
Fill in the Vessel Information as this allows data collected on this vessel to be clearly
identified for diagnostic purposes.

Commissioning Step 7: Heading (Yaw) Offset
WASSP will operate better with a source of true heading. If magnetic heading is the
only heading available then enter the magnetic deviation into the Heading Offset.
The Heading offset can also be used to correct for alignment problems between
the transducer and the heading source. Refining this offset is a complex process
and requires good position accuracy (DGPS or better). Enter a value of 0 or the
magnetic heading offset if using HDG.
