1.
Follow the Light Path to determine the failing component.
2. Verify that the system power present indicator is ON (see
"Center plane connectors, jumpers and LEDs" on page 159).
3. If the system power present indicator is OFF:
a. Power backplane
b. Power supplies
4. VRM J44 on upper SMP Module.
5. Upper SMP Module.
1. If VRM indicator on Light Path card is ON, replace failing
microprocessor VRM.
2. Verify that the system power present indicator is ON (see
"Center plane connectors, jumpers and LEDs" on page 159).
3. If the system power present indicator is OFF:
a. Power backplane
b. Power supplies
4. Microprocessor VRM.
5. Microprocessor.
6. Upper SMP Module.
1. Verify that the system power present indicator is ON (see
"Center plane connectors, jumpers and LEDs" on page 159).
2. If the system power present indicator is OFF:
a. Power backplane
b. Power supplies
3. VRM J28 on upper SMP Module.

1. Refer to previous log entries.
2. Examine the Light Path indicators to determine if the error was
caused by a microprocessor or a DIMM.
3. Verify that all scalability cables are firmly attached.
4. Run diagnostic programs.
5. Replace component indicated by Light Path indicators.
6. Scalability cables.
7. Upper SMP Module.
1. Verify that the scalability cables are firmly connected.
2. Run diagnostic programs.
3. Scalability cables.

1. Verify that the scalability cables are firmly connected.
