Appendix 9: Replacing the Hard Drive
Appendix 9: Replacing the Hard Drive
The System comes with a pre-installed 2.5" hard drive, however the unit will work with a
replacement single hard drive (up to 1 TB).
Note: Make sure that the system is OFF and the power cable has been disconnected before
changing the hard drive.
Removing the Hard Drive
To remove the hard drive:
1. Remove the four screws on the side panels of the housing.
ATTENTION: Do not remove the two screws near the fan on the side
of the housing, or the two screws on the bottom of the unit.
2. Carefully remove the housing, lifting from the
back of the unit, placing it flat (see figure 19.0).
The hard drive is attached on a mounting plate.
Note: Make sure not to damage the cables
connecting the fan to the circuit board.
3. Disconnect the cables from the hard drive.
4. Remove the four screws at the corners of the
mounting plate.
5. Remove the mounting plate (with hard drive)
from the unit. Remove the four screws below
the mounting plate and carefully detach the
hard drive.
Note: Make sure to keep the three sets of screws
(housing, mounting plate, and hard drive) in a
safe place.
