Action
The cassette pick-up solenoid could be defec-
tive. Remove the pick-up unit, and disconnect
cassette pick-up solenoid connector J1203
from the pick-up board. Measure the resis-
tance between connectors J1203-1 and
J1203-2 on the cable side. If it is not about
155 Ohms, replace the cassette pick-up sole-
noid (11-56).
The pick-up board could be defective. Replace
the pick-up board (11-41).
The system board could be defective (4-9).
Action
The controller card could be defective. Make a
test print from the multipurpose tray using the
paper feed test in Diagnostic Aids. If the paper
is picked up correctly, replace the controller
card (19-2).
Gears could be damaged. Remove the man-
ual feed pick-up assembly and check the
gears. Replace any damaged gears.
The manual feed clutch could be defective.
Remove the manual feed pick-up assembly
and disconnect manual feed clutch connector
J1303 from the multipurpose tray board. Mea-
sure the resistance between connectors
J1303-1 and J1303-2 on the cable side. If it is
not about 155 Ohms, replace the manual feed
clutch (14-5).
The system board could be defective (4-9).
