4. Repair Information
This chapter describes mechanical operation as well as adjustments
and removal procedures. Whenever you replace parts, make sure
that all adjustments are correct by running diagnostics procedures
and checking adjustments as needed. Note the following precau-
tions during disassembly or reassembly.
•
When you remove the EP cartridge, cover the cartridge with a
cloth or put it in a dark place to prevent light from affecting the
drum inside the cartridge.
•
Remove the cartridge from the printer before you disassemble
or transport the printer.
•
Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet before you
service the printer.
•
Assembly is the reverse of disassembly unless otherwise speci-
fied.
•
Note the lengths, diameter and locations of screws as you
remove them. When you reassemble the printer be sure to put
the screws in their original location.
•
Do not operate the printer with any parts removed.
•
