At this stage, remove the four turbulators "C" and using a rigid rod or a bottle brush, clean the internal pipe unit
and the turbulators, removing all the ash build-up.
Check the cover gasket and replace it if necessary
CAUTION: It is advisable to carry out the cleaning of the upper exchanger at the end of the season
and possibly by an authorised technician in order to replace the gasket that is situated beneath plug
"B".
CLEANING THE LOWER COMPARTMENT
Remove the ash tray "D" and empty it as mentioned in para. 5.3.4.
Lower the lever "E" and remove the tray "F". Remove all ash from this tray too, and if necessary suction with a
vacuum cleaner to remove any ash and soot build-up under the tray. Also remove the grate "G" and clean it
every 2/3 days as explained in chapter 5.1.
Check the condition of the ceramic fibre seal on the plug and replace it if necessary.
Check the condition of the door seal and replace it if necessary.
At the end of the season, clean the compartment underneath the brazier and the exchanger inside it.
This general clean should be performed at the end of the season in order to facilitate the general removal of all
combustion residue without waiting too long because the weather and humidity may compact it.
CLEANING THE SMOKE BLOWER FAN COMPARTMENT
Remove the four screws securing the plug in place, at the rear of the boiler, and using a vacuum cleaner,
remove any ash build-up on the smoke blower fan.
Check the condition of the ceramic fibre seal on the plug and replace it if necessary.
CLEANING THE SMOKE DUCT AND GENERAL CHECKS:
Clean the exhaust smoke outlet system, especially near any T-unions, elbows and any horizontal
sections.
For information about cleaning the flue pipe, contact a chimney sweep.
Check the condition of the ceramic fibre seals on the boiler door. If necessary, order new seals from your
retailer for replacement or contact an authorised service centre to have this done.
