SSL Setting

Specify the SSL settings. If SSL is enabled, communications between the machine and the client computer
are encrypted to prevent disclosure of passwords and other information.
From this page, certificates can be created or deleted and settings can be changed.

Creating a certificate

After clicking "SSL Setting" in the menu of Administrator mode, select "Create Cert.".

Click the [Next] button.

Specify settings for the following.
Item
Common Name
Department
Organization Unit
Locality
State/Province
Country
Validity Start Date
Validity Period (day)
Encryption Strength
[Create] button

Description
The IP address of this machine is displayed.
Type in the name of the department or group used for creating an department certif-
icate. (up to 63 characters)
Type in the name of the organization used for creating an organization certificate. (up
to 63 characters)
Type in the name of the locality used for creating a locality certificate. (up to 127 char-
acters)
Type in the name of the state/province used for creating a state/province certificate.
(up to 127 characters)
Select the country code regulated by ISO 03166 used for creating a country certifi-
cate.
United States: US, Great Britain: GB, Italy: IT, Australia: AU, The Netherlands: NL,
Canada: CA, Spain: ES, Czech Republic: CZ, China: CN, Denmark: DK, Germany: DE,
Japan: JP, France: FR, Belgium: BE, Russia: RU
Type in the starting date for the period of validity. The date and time when this page
was displayed is displayed.
Type in the number of days from the starting date for the period of validity for the cer-
tificate.
Select the level of encryption.
After specifying settings for the above parameters, click the [Create] button to create
the self-signed certificate.
After the certificate is created, click the [OK] button to log off of Administrator mode.
In order to enable SSL communication, turn the machine off, then on again.
