FRONT BRAKE ADJUSTMENT
1.Check:
• Brake lever free play
®
Out of specification
-1
Adjust.
Free play (brake (ever):
10 - 15 mm (0.4 - 0.6 in)
(at brake (ever end)
2.Adjust:
• Brake lever free play

Adjustment steps:
• Loosen the locknut (D.
• Turn the adjuster
®
in or out until the
specified free play is obtained.
Turning in:
brake lever free play is
decreased.
Turning out:
brake lever free play is
increased.
• Tighten the locknut.
After adjusting the front brake lever free
play, make sure that there is no brake drag.
A
WARNING
A soft or spongy feeling in the brake lever
can indicate the presence of air in the brake
system. This air must be removed by
bleeding the brake system before the
motorcycle is operated. Air in the brake
system will considerably reduce braking
performance and could result in a loss of
control and possibly an accident. Inspect
and if necessary, bleed the brake system.
